Sustainability
“Sustainability is the capacity to endure in a relatively ongoing way across various domains of life.” …”meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”.. “It is defined through the interconnected domains of environment, economy and society“.
Personally, I believe that sustainability is one of the key values and principles for our existence as a species and as a society. For this reason this theme plays a fundamental role in my approach to life and work / business.
Addressing mainly to micro-enterprises, and being one of them myself, I know well how important the economic sustainability of our business is. I know from experience how complicated but also exciting it is to have to deal with limited resources, how important it is to analyze and plan with your limits in mind. Often many of us aim to be sustainable, to have a business that can last over time, in a profitable way, without necessarily aiming to become a multinational company. I am a nature lover, I try to live it daily, and I have the opportunity to touch first-hand the damage that humankind has done and (sometimes) continues to do to its main resource for survival; for this reason, I pay attention, both in my private and working life, to the consequences that our actions can have on the ecosystem in which we live. I enthusiastically embrace activities, projects and initiatives that share this eye for the environment with me.
For these reasons, I consider sustainability to be one of the main values that should guide us, both as people and as entrepreneurs.
